Beeswax

This is the fourth edition of Beeswax, which has an updated candle-making section and more on wax casting and other useful wax information.

Ron Brown was a well-known lecturer on beekeeping and the author of several beekeeping books and pamphlets.

In 1981 BEESWAX was the first book on the subject for nearly 73 years – since Cowan’s Wax Craft appeared – and has been published by popular request. It contains details on the history, chemical content, and the many uses of beeswax. The 20 illustrations are carefully chosen to make this an essentially practical book for beekeeper, wax candle and polish maker as well as for the interested reader, who may have often wondered what produced the shine on the dining-room table.

The First Edition of this book was awarded the Silver Medal of Apimondia at the XXVIII International Congress held in Acapulco, Mexico, from 23rd to 29th October 1981.

Apimondia is, of course, the World Bee Organisation which holds an International Congress once every two years. These are attended by upwards of 2,000 delegates from almost every country in the world.
